Since the early 90s, the city of Barcelos is been setting its position as one of the main birthplaces in Portugal for the most important bands in the alternative music scene. From space stoner-locomotive Black Bombaim to the Iggy Popsters in love with not being bored Glockenwise, it’s been made clear the Portuguese city is the place for a festival as special as Milhões de Festa.
Porto promoter’s Lovers & Lollypops and the City Hall of Barcelos made Milhões de Festa as an effort to change geography and mix things around in the Portuguese scene: instead of Barcelos exporting its music to all over the world, the city will take the spot as the center of this beautiful, relaxed universe of alternative culture. All of Barcelos will be hijacked by up and coming artists, as well as by classic artists.
